   Jose Medina, President/Director of Operations

  

Jose L. Medina is a former enlisted Military serviceman with the United States Marine Corps who is currently a 15 1/2-year veteran of law enforcement having extensive background training in both corrections and police training.  Jose Medina's background consists of Narcotic investigator experience as well as intense SWAT/Tactical experience.  Jose currently specializes in Force Option™/Force-on-Force training as the developer of the Force-on-Force Instructor program titled RAPAIR™ which applies principles for operators in the field.  As President of Awareness Protective Consultants, Jose Medina has taken his police, military discipline and tactical training background and has applied his intense training and educational mindset along with extreme long hours dedicated to researching and developing new training concepts, re-establishing old theories and enhancing them into concepts that make sense in our training and consulting missions.  Jose has conducted numerous training seminars consulting and certification programs ranging from for police, corrections, military, tactical units, firefighters, corporate industries covering courses such as terrorism awareness, identity theft, disaster planning, active shooter training, SWAT training, VIP Protection and various forms of use of force concepts and combatives courses.

Arthur Randolph, Managing Partner/Director of Sales and Services 

 

The "McGuiver" of the training operations, Arthur Randolph brings his 25 years of law enforcement experience to Awareness Protective Consultants.  During the past 10 years, Art served as a patrol sergeant for a 90 person police department located in the State of New Jersey.  Arthur Randolph's SWAT experience includes positions as a team member, team leader and team commander of his department’s Emergency Services Unit.  Artthur Randolph's training background includes 12 years as a firearms instructor and supervising range officer for his department.  His dedication and passion to high end educational training and services to the Law Enforcement, Military and Advanced Security field cannot be compared. Arthur Randolph continually works with Jose Medina in the research and development of advanced training and educational programs for Awareness Protective Consultants, LLC.  Arthur was the lead instructor for APCLLC conducting a 10 week training program for future Aviation Sky Marshals candidates for the Aviation Police Authority in Southeast Asia.  Arthur Randolph can be reached at: 1-866-634-3373 Ext. 104 or e-mail below.

John Russo Training Instructor/Consulant

 

John Russo is a twenty four year veteran of law enforcement serving three years with the United States Army Military Police Corps, fourteen years as a New Jersey Municipal Police Officer and seven years as a County Detective in New Jersey. He has functioned as a S.W.A.T. Team Leader, Patrol Sergeant, Firearms, Defensive Tactics, Oleoresin Capsicum Instructor and County Rangemaster. John trains and is ranked a Black Belt in Alex Wilkie’s American Freestyle Martial Arts as well as a Blue Belt in Royler Gracie Jiu-Jitsu and he continues to study and train in the System, a Russian Martial Art. A graduate of the New Jersey Chief’s of Police West Point Command and Leadership Program, John holds a Associates Degree from Dean College Massachusetts,  a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice from Columbia Southern University, Alabama, and a Masters Degree in Administrative Science from Fairleigh Dickinson University.     Richard Bourne, Training Instructor/Consultant

 

Richard Bourne is a 23-year Law Enforcement veteran who began his career working for the Department of Corrections. He also served as a team leader with the Correctional Emergency Response Team. He has instructed at the municipal, county and state level in firearms and tactical training. Richard also served as a member of a County Special Operations Response Team. Richard is a police Lieutenant in the State of New Jersey where he currently assigned to the patrol division and is the department training coordinator. During his Law Enforcement career Richard was the Commander of the Street Crimes Repression Unit (SCRU) where he supervised plainclothes and undercover operations.  Rich is the APCLLC Lead Tactical Baton Instructor.  Rich is also a proud member of the National Tactical Officers Association.

   John Zamrok, Firearms Training Advisory Consultant

    

John H. Zamrok, is a decorated Marine Corps Vietnam veteran, retired from 23 years of New Jersey Municipal and State law enforcement service.  He served as a SWAT team leader and his 29 years of experience as a law enforcement firearms instructor includes five years as a full-time regional instructor for H&K’s International Training Division.  Presently, as State Range Master, John coordinates all New Jersey law enforcement firearms training, both at the local in-service level and at the 23 New Jersey police academies and is an active instructor for Team One Network.  John is a “LIFE” member of IALEFI, and has taught at many IALEFI annual and regional conferences, as well as authoring several firearms instructor articles.  John is also a proud member of the National Tactical Officers Association.

   Nicholas D'Alessio, Training Instructor/Consultant

    

Nick D’Alessio is a retired 18 year veteran of law enforcement having extensive background training in both corrections and police training.  He graduated from the Essex County Police Academy, Cedar Grove, NJ.  His career includes service and leadership of the Middlesex County Hostage Negotiation and Corrections Emergency Response Teams.  Nick D’Alessio has completed numerous courses related to terrorism, weapons of mass destruction, response to terrorist bombings, executive protection and hostage negotiations. Nick D’Alessio is a certified firearms instructor for the New Jersey State Police RPO Program.  His qualifications include, MP-5 submachine instructor, firearms instructor, NJ State Police defensive tactics training, pressure point control tactics instructor, FBI defensive tactics, spontaneous knife self defense instructor.  He has planned, participated in and led raids on drug or illicit activities and participated in undercover operations.  He provided affirmative response in efforts to secure safe recovery of kidnapping victims and other hostages as well as responding to acts of violence and or terrorism.  Nick D’Alessio has accumulated numerous awards and accommodations for narcotic arrests and robbery arrests.  He is also working as a private investigator in the State of New Jersey and New York.

    Deron ILarraza, Training Instructor/Consultant

    

Deron J. Ilarraza is a police officer in the State of New Jersey with over 15 years experience in law enforcement.  He started his career as a county correctional officer with the Monmouth County Sheriff's Office in 1992 to 2000 where he served as a C.E.R.T. Squad Leader for seven years as well as an unarmed defensive tactics and PR-24 police baton instructor for the training unit.  In 1995, Deron began instructing at the Monmouth County Police Academy in teaching police and corrections recruits in unarmed defensive tactics, side handle baton, physical fitness, search and handcuffing and riot and crowd control tactics.  Deron is currently a police officer in the State of New Jersey where he is assigned to the patrol division as well as a member of the department's high risk warrant and narcotics entry team.   Deron Ilarraza is currently part of the Tactical Training Unit for Awareness Protective Consultants, LLC where he works and trains in the areas of Correction Officer Survival Tactics and education as well as the C.E.R.T. Training Consultant along with Richard Bourne.  His dedication to intense training and education for correction officers is also applied to our police, SWAT and military training objectives as well.  Deron is also a proud member of the National Tactical Officers Association.

   Roy George, Training Instructor/Consultant

    

Roy George is a 6 year law enforcement veteran in the State of New Jersey and is currently assigned to the Traffic Division.  He has been the Supervising Firearms Instructor for his agency for the past five years.  Roy holds instructor certifications for Basic Firearms, Sub-Gun, Ballistic Shield, and Active Shooter.   He is the department armorer with certifications from Smith & Wesson, Colt Defense and Benelli.  Roy’s SWAT experience includes being an entry team member and assistant team leader of his departments Emergency Services Unit.   Roy is a member of the Union County Police Academy’s list of Police Training Commission certified instructors for Basic Recruit training.  Roy George is also a volunteer firefighter in the town where he resides and brings new and innovative forcible entry techniques to the table.  Roy George is part of the firearms training instructor teams where he works side by side with Arthur Randolph in the development of more advanced and educational tactical firearms training programs.

Bryan Doel, Training Instructor/Consultant

 

Bryan is a veteran of a municipal police department in New Jersey since 1994. He is a graduate of the Middlesex County Police Academy and had previously graduated from the Lake County, Florida, Police Academy. He is presently assigned to the Detective Bureau where he works as a crime scene detective and has worked previous assignments is the Patrol Bureau and the Special Operations Bureau. Bryan is currently a member of the departments Firearms Training Unit and holds qualifications as a NJDCJ certified Academy Instructor, Firearms Instructor, Police Service Rifle Instructor, OC Spray Instructor and Glock Armorer. He also serves as an entry team member for the Middlesex County Special Operations Response Team (SORT) where he has been assigned since 2004. Bryan is also a 10-year veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve. He has served two tours on active duty for the attacks of 9-11 in New York City, specifically at and around Ground Zero, and also during Operation Iraqi Freedom. He is a former Port Security Specialist 1st Class and Military Working Dog handler/trainer who completed his military career as a member of the training staff for an Anti-Terrorism Unit in the Northeast. Some of his military duties included the administration of military law enforcement training and certifications courses, tactical procedures instruction, SOCOM Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) Self Aid/Buddy Aid instructor and Z-Medica Quik Clot instructor. Bryan holds current memberships in the National Tactical Officers Association (NTOA), International Association of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors (IALEFI), International Association for Identification (New Jersey Division), Honor Legion of the State of New Jersey and the New Jersey State Policeman’s Benevolent Association.

  Ronald (Ron) J. Wenzel, Training Instructor/Consultant

 

Ron is a patrolman with 18-years of law enforcement experience in the State of New Jersey.  He is a graduate of both the Morris and Passaic County Police Academies. As a police officer for the Borough of  Lincoln Park , he is presently assigned to the Auxiliary Services Bureau as a Traffic Officer and frequently runs the Emergency Services Unit Vehicle. He has previously been assigned to the Patrol Bureau, as well as Community Policing. Ron is currently a member of the departments Special Response Team, where he serves as an operator and tactical medic. He is a certified Academy instructor for both Morris and Essex County police training facilities. Area of instruction includes Basic Life Support, CPR/AED, First Responder, 9-1-1 operator, and tactical medicine. He has previously worked for the Denville Township Police Department and Morris County Correctional Facility.  Ron is also a 4-year veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve where he serves as a team leader, trainer and tactical medic. He is a Port Security Specialist 1st Class assigned to an Anti-Terrorism Unit in the Northeast. Some of his military duties include the administration of military law enforcement training and certifications courses, tactical procedures instruction, SOCOM Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) Self Aid/Buddy Aid instructor and Z-Medica Quik Clot instructor. He is certified in vertical delivery and is a certified Shallow Water Egress Trainer (SWET) instructor. Ron is credited with Coast Guard TCCC initiatives. He is a certified Coast Guard Tactical Medic Provider trainer and a Combat First Aid Instructor for the Patrol Forces Southwest Asia (PATFORSWA) pre-deployment training team.  Ron recieved his Master of Arts degree from Seton Hall University in Leadership and Supervision under the New Jersey State Police Graduate Studies Program.  Ron is an active member of the Special Operations Medical Association (SOMA).

Global Threat Specialist Team 

 

    Jason Lyons, Training Consultant/Global Threat Specialist

 

Jason Lyons retired as a Staff Sergeant from the United States Marines Corps in June of 2002.  During his 10 years in the Marine Corps, SSgt Lyons spent 6 years as an infantry fire team and squad leader, where he took part in numerous training evolutions and real world deployments. He is an expert in the real world operational employment of light and heavy weapons systems, and deployment of small unit team tactics in both permissible and non-permissible environments. He has trained and operated with various foreign units, to include Greek, Turk, Israeli, German, Bulgarian, and British forces. He is a graduate of both the Marine Corps School of Infantry and the Advanced Infantry Squad Leader’s Course. Upon Leaving the Marine Corps, SSgt Lyons spent 2 and ½ years working in critical infrastructure protection for the private security sector, providing both anti-terrorism and force protection operations for the nuclear industry. Jason is qualified in the tactical employment of individual and small unit response teams for nuclear security response force personnel. He is qualified as an Active Shooter Response Instructor, as well as a certified as a CPR/Basic Life saving Instructor. He is currently employed as a Global Threat (terrorism) Specialist and Training Consultant with APC LLC. He is an active member of the International Counter Terrorist Officers Association.

Richard O'Meara, Training Consultant/Global Threat Specialist

Richard O’Meara is a retired Brigadier General, U.S. Army, and trial attorney who presently teaches global studies subject including Human Rights, US national security interests and Ethnic Violence in the Division of Global Affairs Graduate Program, Rutgers University and in the Genocide and Holocaust Studies Program at Stockton College. He holds graduate degrees in Law, History and International Relations and is also a graduate of the Army War College and various United Naitons courses.  General O’Meara is an Adjunct at the Defense Institute for International Legal Studies and has taught Rule of Law, Criminal Justice, Terrorism and Governance courses in such diverse locations as Chad, Cambodia, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Ukraine, Slovenia, Philippines, Thailand, Moldova, Peru, Panama, El Salvador, Honduras and Iraq.  He has worked on Human Rights and Security Issues in Vietnam, Israel, Northern Ireland and Bosnia-Herzegovina.  He has worked with border police immigration police and anti-terrorism units of miltary and police institutions in various location as well.  He served as a Director of Homeland Solutions LLC which involved him in the preparation and presentation of counter terrorism instruction in the United States. In 2001, as an Emergency Medical Technician, he responded to the 9/11 attacks at the World Trade Center and worked on a part-time basis throughout the Fall of 2001 with the Red Cross during the recovery and then rehabilitation operations that ensued.

Daniel Sharon, Counter-Terrorism Training Instructor/Consultant

 

Daniel Sharon is a retired 28-year veteran of the Israeli Security Forces. His responsibilities have included the civil administration and jurisdiction of 35,000 residents of an area approximately 100 square kilometers. He is experienced in counter terrorism, intelligence, weapons, and body language. His achievements include being an Israeli Police Commander in the Golan Heights, the Bravery Medal Award, Police Officer of the Year Award, and the disarming of a suicide bomber, which lead to the development of the Counter-Action Manual. His fields of expertise are counter-terror evaluation, identification of suicide bombers, their containment and disarmament, operational behavior, body language, intelligence, airport and perimeter security, bomb management and containment planning, exposure and infiltration into criminal and terrorist organizations, and training police forces and security personnel.

David Kutcher, Counter-Terrorism Tactical Training Instructor/Consultant

 

Major (Ret) Dave Kutcher is respected for his work in anti-terrorism and weapons training. His experience in the Israeli Defense Forces during the Yom Kippur War and in the Anti-terror Unit Yamam provided him the expertise and experience to help develop the Advanced Training Facility in the Israeli Border Police Academy. In this newly created department he developed anti-terror tactics that are still in use today and has grown into one of the most important departments in Israel.  

At the time when the suicide bombers first started to threaten the security of nations, Kutcher was a member of a team that implemented techniques for the Israeli Police to use. As Chief Weapons Instructor in the Police School for Operational Fitness, he has become most regarded in the field of neutralizing the suicide bomber and anti-terror training.  He continues to educate himself in the behavior and thought process of the suicide bomber and passes on that knowledge to law enforcement throughout the world.

Aside from his experience into the mind of the suicide bomber and techniques to stop a bomb before its occurrence, Kutcher is also well known for his weapons skill and instruction. He established Special Operations units and trained over 80,000 volunteers and Israeli police in the Police Civil Guard. He has lectured and trained at S.W.A.T conferences, the IDF and the Smith and Wesson Academy. Due to Major (ret) Dave Kutchers high integrity and skills he has earned respect from peers and new contacts from around the world. With the ever increasing threat of terrorism he is sought after for his expertise and advice.

   Israeli Corrections Special Operations Group 

 

  

 

  Guy Rozenfeld, Operations Director of Corrections Training

 

Spearheaded by Israeli Corrections Specialist and Operations Director of Corrections Training and Education, Guy Rozenfeld, our new advanced Correction Officer training resource will now be made available to operators around the world.  This unique training unit blends all the educational value needed by operators in the field of SOG Teams located within the correctional facilities.  This training group is like no other as it prides itself in bringing the intensity needed in the correctional environment blending speed, power and skill, with education and higher learning as the ultimate goal.  Guy Rozenfeld is a former Israeli Correction Specialist working in the Counter Terrorism and Hostage Rescue Unit known as "Massada Intervention Unit" where his operation details consisted of Team Leader with additional intelligence duites and personal Protection of Prison commissioners.  Guy Rozenfeld will be the credible and advanced force of training programs that will help Correction Officers particularly involved in Special Operation Teams, in executing effective security operations within their facility and also utilizing strong use of force standards which will be implemented in each and every program geared from training and education, daily operations and threat assessments of facilities.

Felix Aponte, Training Consultant for Advanced Correction Officer Training 

Emergency Service Unit, NYC Department of Corrections (Ret)  

 

Felix Aponte is a former Emergency Service Officer and Instructor who was tasked with training of permanent and support team members in all subjects related to Emergency Services.  He was a Rapid Response Team member tasked with responding to emergencies within the Department and Citywide. Mr. Aponte is also a Scuba Team member who was also tasked with responses to waterborne emergencies within the Department and Citywide.  He was a Corrections Officer Academy Instructor tasked with training of recruits and in-service personnel working with updating lesson plans, research & development of new courses. He has conducted operations in High Risk Transport Team member operations and training along with Investigation and Documentation of High Risk, Notorious and Federal prisoner transport by Team. He is a specialist in Testing & Evaluation of specialized equipment for operators in the field.  He is a Liaison Officer for vendors and outside agencies. Mr. Aponte has conducted countless hundreds of "real time" operations in his respective field and currently conducts intense waterborne and confined space operations.

Sniper Training Unit (STU)

 

Due to the current security sensitive backgrounds of our Sniper Training (Unit STU) we will not be able to post individual names of instructors.  Our STU members are capable of making contact with your agency in regards to information pertaining to the training programs and the instructor backgrounds upon obtaining clearance for communications.  Our STU Team has a strong background in the following areas:

 

  • Marine Sniper (school qualified - MOS 8541- and current operational experience)
  • Army Special Forces Sniper (SOTIC qualified and current operational experience)
  • NRA Distinguished Shooter since 1996
  • Marine Corps Marksmanship Instructor (school qualified MOS 8531)
  • Combined total of 16 combat tours to Iraq and Afghanistan since 9-11 (3 instructors)
  • Combined total of 24 years of special operations experience (3 instructors)
  • All qualified instructors in respective service branch
